Das Hotel ist an und für sich in Ordnung. Jedoch ist die Kategorie 5 Sterne in einigen Bereichen nicht angebracht. Die Freundlichkeit des Personals war selten zu erkennen. Man wurde nie gegrüßt und oftmals einfach ignoriert. Ausnahme hierbei bildeteten lediglich die Reinigungskräfte. Ansonsten nichts zu erkennen von der typisch griechischen Freundlichkeit. Ein weiterer Punkt was keinesfalls 5 Sterne-würdig ist, ist das Alter des Hotels und die damit verbundene alte Einrichtung. Wir waren auf der obersten Etage untergebracht und es roch vor allem im Flur sehr modrig. Wir wurden jedoch informiert, das in einigen Zimmern bereits investiert wurde und die Einrichtung und Ausstattung erneuert wurde. Dies dürfte auf ca. 20 % der Kapazität zutreffen. Positiv hervorzuheben ist die durchaus gute Lage zum Strand. Weiterhin zu empfehlen ist der Spa Bereich. Hier werden tolle Anwendungen zu moderaten Preisen angeboten. Das Frühstück war insgesamt okay. Jedoch war der Frühstücksraum ziemlich klein und auch das männliche Personal hatte nicht gerade sehr freundlich auf uns gewirkt. Die Gäste dieses Hotels sind überwiegend Senioren. Alles in allem hatten wir von diesem Hotel wesentlich mehr erwartet. Wir waren zuvor im Napa Mermaid (4 Sterne, direkt gegenüber). Thank you very much for your feedback. We are very disappointed to hear that your stay at the Alion was not up to your expectations. -The average age of the guests in September is higher than in July and August. This is due to the fact that these are the guests who avoid the very hot weather of July and August and also have the luxury to plan their holidays in advance. As Alion has only one 100 rooms these are booked very early in the year and definately are not available for guests who can only plan their holidays late. -Regarding the refurbishments of the hotel I would like to coment that Alion every year (winter season) proceed with different refurbishments according to the existing master plan. So far we have covered the Pool area, the breakfast room and terrace the restaurant, the health centre as well as the fitnes room. In the rooms we have done the first part of the changes (beds, pilows, quilts,furnitures and part of the bath) We have renovated and upgraded the corner rooms to panoramic rooms and we have also replaced the carbet in all side sea view rooms with parquet. This winter we will be replacing the carpet with parquet in all sea view rooms and next winter with the remaining park view rooms. In the winter we are also replacing our guest lifts and we will redesign the hotel main entrance. -The comparison with the Mermaid hotel we find very sunjective and not objective. It is totaly differnet hotel for different taste and different needs, suitable for differnt type of guests. Some examples:Being direct on one of the nicest sundy beaches is not the same as having to cross the street and walk for 5 minutes to reach the beach or rerturn back to your room. The sunbeds in the hotel gardens on the grass under the palm trees with all conviniences around can not be underestimated. Having your breakfast and dinner on the terrace in hte intimate atmosphere of the redesigned terrace restaurant overlooking the Ayia Napa harbour and the cape Greco is a pure enjoyment. -Of course all the above are only important if someone appreciate them and make use of them.
