Die Kapelle mit Widmung wurde erstmals im 12. Jahrhundert urkundlich erwähnt und im 16. Jhdt wurde die ursprüngliche kleine Kirche vergrößert und umgebaut. Während des Ersten Weltkrieges wurde sie schwer beschädigt und nach Kriegsende wieder restauriert.
