Dear Mrs. Isabel, We thank for your appreciated feedback, which deserved our best attention. We are very sorry to hear that your stay did not match your expectations, as Our main goal is to provide the satisfaction of our visitors, in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner, in order to please your common guests, in any possible way. In reference to your comments regarding the Hotel, the surroundings Areas and activities, please find our feedback: Location: Places such as Caniço de Baixo, Santa Cruz, Caniçal and Machico are not far from Funchal due to the Via Rapida (quick way). All these places are situated at the sea side and have good hotels that are also suggested by many tour operators. If you select a holiday resort in Garajau, Canico or Santa Cruz it means that: •You want a tropical climate. •You like a peaceful setting and don't want too much noise. •You don't need much more than a hotel, good food, swimming pool, Sea access and one or two restaurants on walking distance. •Funchal is near (Taxi, bus or rented car), and in our specific case we have a Free shuttle bus from Monday to Friday from Caniço (Hotel) to Funchal (City) and back. Rooms: Concerning the Hotel, the Rooms, we understand the feeling about the age of our furniture and decoration, but we would like to underline that in what concerns to the most important things for a comfortable stay, beds & mattresses, they are brand new. We also inform that we it is in our plans to renovate some of the furniture and decoration. Empty Mini-bar in the room: We do not have or provide a mini-bar in the rooms at our Hotels, but a mini-fridge (as the rooms at Hotel Rocamar do not have a kitchenette). What it concerns the TV being small and it did not work. Well they are small, but if they are not working, we provide a new one, but according with the reception Log Book, there was no complaint. Food: Disappointment with our food offer/choices of the dinner buffet/No offer of pancakes and coffee cake at breakfast. We have a diversified Buffets every day, which includes Thematic buffets, as follows: Monday – Madeiran Night Wednesday – Italian Night Thursday – Brazilian Night Saturday – Portuguese Night Referring to our breakfast buffet, we have a very good range offers which includes Assorted sliced Cakes, Chocolate/Orange Muffins, Pancakes and French Toasts. However, if you would have approached us with these comments we would be very happy to change your board to bed and breakfast, and give you a compensation to use our Steak House, where you could eat all of different kinds of sea-food, T-bone steaks, Brazilian picanha, traditional meat on spit, and many other choices. We hope that you will allow us to regain your confidence on your next stay at the Rocamar Lido Resort Hotels, when we shall be entirely at your disposal.
