Wir sind eine Familie mit 3 Kindern und hatten ein Familienzimmer gebucht. Diese befinden sich in diesem Hotel leider entweder im Untergeschoß/Souterrain, mit innenliegenden, nicht belichteten/belüfteten Kinderzimmern, oder in einem regulären, ca 20 m² großen Doppelzimmer, in dem die Kinder im Eingangsbereich des Zimmers (durch Schiebetür abtrennbar, kein Außenfenster) schlafen, auf Sofas und Zustellbetten. Zu fünft auf 20 m² gibt es weder Platz für die Koffer noch genug Stauraum im Schrank und gut schlafen kann keiner. Während unseres Aufenthaltes im Juni haben nicht nur wir uns, sondern auch zahlreiche andere Gäste sich über die Zimmer beschwert. Badezimmer winzig und nicht sehr gepflegt (alles verkalkt), Waschbecken im Zimmer statt im Bad. Balkone mit Aussicht auf Gebäude gegenüber. Wir hatten in unserem Leben noch ne so ein schlechtes, kleines und lautes Zimmer und noch nie im Urlaub so schlecht geschlafen. Zudem hat uns geärgert, dass in diesem Hotel alles extra kostet: Liegen am Strand mit Auflagen und Schirm 8,- Euro pro Tag extra, Strandtuch 1,- Euro pro Tag, Essen im Strandrestaurant 5,- Euro pro Tag - lediglich der Sitzplatz mit Meerblick kostet mehr! Haben wir noch nie erlebt. Das alles läppert sich, zumal die Getränke auch noch recht teuer sind (kleines Bier 3,50, alkoholfreier Kindercocktail 6,50, Aperol Spritz 9,-). Das Hotel hat 2 Restaurants, von denen das am Strand sehr schön ist, allerdings den erwähnten Aufpreis kostet. Das andere Restaurant ("Garden") ist von der Lage her nicht der Rede wert. Das Essen ist in Ordnung, allerdings gibt es wenig Abwechslung und wenn man nicht früh beim Essen ist, bekommt man nur noch wenig - es wird vieles nicht nachgelegt und ist dann weg. Für uns war dieser Urlaub nicht erholsam aufgrund des schrecklichen Zimmer, zumal Preis-Leistung überhaupt nicht gepasst hat. Wir haben pauschal gebucht und bei Rausrechnen des Fluges (500 Euro pro Person angenommen) satte 385,- Euro pro Nacht gezahlt mit HP. Das passt leider hinten und vorne nicht und wir fühlen uns vera..... Ich denke zu zweit in einem renovierten Doppelzimmer mit Meerblick und wenn man nicht viel Wert auf Abwechselung beim Essen legt, kann dies durchaus ein schöner Urlaub werden. Parkplätze gibt es nur wenige, Bus nach Rethymnon fährt in der Nähe.

Dear Mrs. Isabelle, Thank you for choosing Odyssia Beach Hotel for your holidays and for taking time to send us your review. We regret that you did not enjoy your holidays to the utmost, especially by the time that we explained to you these issues so many times. You claim that you booked an “all inclusive” package, but this means that you booked flight, hotel and possibly other services like car etc. The amount that you paid was not all for the hotel. Your reservation was for a Family Garden View Room with Half Board. That means that you paid for a Family Room with four beds and an extra bed added, as also for breakfast and dinner from the Buffet in the Gardenside Restaurant. The location or the floor of the room is nowhere mentioned in our description. Nevertheless, upon your arrival you received the biggest family room in the hotel, which is normally for six persons, but you refused to stay in this room, as it was on the ground floor, and you preferred to stay in a smaller family room on the first floor, for which you were informed since the first moment, and we repeat, it was YOU the one who chose this alternative. In addition, the next days, we offered two more alternatives, but you denied all of them. The “noumerous” guests that you support that had problems with the room is a not valid information. The fact that a guest is not satisfied with a room is due to the different standards of each person, and is something that could happen, but, we are always willing to do our best in order to find a more comfortable option for everyone. The same happened with you and we regret that you did not recognize our efforts. Instead, you preferred to speak in an impolite and hysterical manner to us, screaming, insulting our Staff, as also the Representative of the Tour Operator, threatening us and you were not open in any kind of communication. Such a behavior is not accepted from anyone and, especially in a place where people are trying to relax and enjoy their holidays. Many guests were present that time and were very disturbed with your behavior and they expressed that to our Staff. For every Hotel that offers Half Board, it is widely known, that the drinks are not included. Regarding the prices, even though, in general, there is a revaluation issue, our prices remain low and we receive continuously positive comments from our guests. The fact that we have two restaurants, is due to the fact that the hotel has many guests and the Gardenside Main Restaurant doesn’t have enough space, unfortunately. So, the Hotel Owners created one more category, the Deluxe one, and in which, the Breakfast & Dinner in Seaside Restaurant is included, as the guests have already prepaid by booking the room. All the other guests who wish to have their meals in the Seaside can do for this upgrade directly to our Reception Desk. This is something that you knew before your arrival in our hotel, when you requested, through your Tour Operator, to offer you this upgrade free of charge and we denied, as it would be unfair for the guests who paid already for it. We would like to mention that our facilities, location, extra services and other details are compiled on our Tour Operator’s catalogues for our guests to view. We are sad that you did not find this before booking and that you could not spend your valuable vacation time to your complete satisfaction. We recognize the fact that you were dissatisfied when we refused to offer you free upgrade to the Seaside Restaurant and this is the reason that you prejudged your stay with us. This was obvious since the first moment that you entered our Hotel, as you and your family were asking more things than those that you booked for, and when we explained you that things are not as you think you demanded to offer you free facilities, by threatening us that you will complaint and that you will post a bad review. For one more time, we regret that you feel this way, but your review is untrue, unfair and your sole purpose is to defame and harm our hotel, as you already threatened us that you will do. This makes us feel disappointed, annoyed and worried regarding the fact that there are guests like you, who believe that will enjoy free benefits by acting in the same way as we described above.
