Hotelzimmer sehr alt eingerichtet. Mischmöbel im Echtholz/weiß und Pressspanmöbel im Eichenholzoptik, gemischt mit weißem Kühlschrank und Herd, die Teilweise vergilbt waren. Duschvorhang viel zu kurz, sodass nach dem Duschen in der Badewanne immer eine halbe Überschwemmung vorhanden war. Zimmer war neben einer Abstellkammer, wo Chemikalien (lauter Behälter mit Chlor) gelagert wurden. Beim Reinschauen in die Kammer (war nicht abgesperrt), waren gesundheitsbedenkliche Zeichen drauf. Hat auch immer wieder extrem gestunken. Pool ist sehr klein, extrem kalt und war total überchlort. Viele Kinder sind deshalb nicht rein. Wlan und Liegestühle nur gegen Aufpreis. Der Fitnessraum ist ein Witz. Animation für Kinder war so gut wie nicht vorhanden. Lag aber vielleicht an der Jahreszeit. Gutscheine für die Massage, ist nur zum Ködern für weitere Termine gedacht, die sehr teuer sind. TV schauen (Satanlage) bei schlechtem Wetter war nicht möglich, da dann alles verpixelt war. Tische im Speisesaal hatten an den Seiten überall Abplatzungen. Der Holzboden im Außenbereich des Speisesaals war teilweise defekt. Holzbodendielen gaben nach und Schrauben standen heraus. Ein Mädchen hat sich sogar verletzt. Deftiges Essen und Getränke extrem schlecht. Billiger geht es nicht mehr. Süßspeisen waren aber dafür sehr sehr gut (Note 1). Der Rest war Müll. Personal im Speisesaal stritten immer wieder mal untereinander und waren nicht gerade freundlich. Ein Barkeeper sogar sehr unfreundlich. Trotz All Inklusive (was leider nur bis 22 Uhr oder gegen Aufpreis bis 1 Uhr geht) konnte einer alleine keine 5 Getränke auf einmal holen für den Strand, obwohl wir 5 Personen waren. Man musste mit dem Barkeeper erst einmal 10 min. diskutieren. Getränke für den Strand bekommt man nur in ganz kleine Plastikbecher mit Strohhalm. Leider sah auch der Strand dann teilweise so aus. Auch waren faustgroße Steine überall am Strand vorhanden. Sehr unangenehm beim Laufen und Liegen. Auch war ein ins Wasser gehen ohne Badeschuhe schmerzhaft für die Füße. Viele werden jetzt vielleicht denken, was sind das denn für Nörgler, aber meine Frau und ich haben dies so gesehen und wollte andere nur unseren Eindruck mitgeben, damit der Urlaub nicht in einer kompletten Enttäuschung endet. Wir reisen sehr viel herum und für 4 Sterne kann man viel mehr erwarten. Auch haben wir einige Urlauber kennengelernt, die alle unsere Meinung teilten, aber leider keine Bewertungen abgeben möchten. Schade!!! Sehr lobenswert war unsere Reinigungsdame. Das Trinkgeld war dem entsprechend hoch. Auch der Service an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Dear Heinz, Kalispera from windy but warm Rethymno. We were so sorry to read that you were not happy from your stay at Dimitrios Village Beach Resort. Parts of the hotel are being renovated every year but so far is not all. We are sorry that by the time of your arrival it was not possible to be in a renovated room. But did you go to reception to ask to change to another room? We always try to satisfy our guests, when is possible. About the swimming pools and their size, is because the hotel has direct access to the beach. Only one pool can be heated (the closed one) and we feel sorry that by the time of your stay was not heated yet. We don't agree with children feeling cold and not swimming because we had complains of exactly the opposite, which means : too many children at the swimming pools. Of course is different if some days the weather was cold, windy and raining. And this is the reason of having problem with the TV- satelite. We are sure after the storm everything was back to normal. About the animation. It is now the end of the season and the kids animation team had to go back to their countries and continue with their studies. About the SPA. So far we have only satisfied guests from the different services and prizes as well. At the end, is all up to you if you would like to book a massage or not. We were so surprised to read that you didn't like any of our all inclusive buffets. Our kitchen chef and his team every day prepare many different traditional greek but also international dishes, so everybody would find something to eat. We feel so sorry that our buffets didn't match to your taste. But we do appreciate the one point for the desserts. We were also very sad to read that you were not totally satisfied from the service -bar staff. Usually, we only have positive comments of how friendly and ready to help our staff is. We apologize if you didn't feel the same way. About the plastic glasses this is only for safety reasons. If drinking by pool or beach, with so many children around, is so easy to brake. Because of that, we only use plastic to these areas. Crete is an island. As in all islands, it is very often that is very windy. When windy, as a natural event, the sea brings out to our front beach -every single time, new stones or sand. We try to remove as many as possible, but always more stones appear. It is always good to use the special sea shoes. However, we would like to thank you for your positive comments for our cleaning ladies and for the time you took to post your comments on Holidaycheck.
