Die Festung St. Angelo in Birgu hatte selbstverständlich auch eine Kapelle. Die Kirche wurde 1274 erstmals unter dem Namen St. Angelo erwähnt. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs wurde die Kirche zerstört und 1955 wieder aufgebaut. Heute ist sie der Geburt der Jungfrau Maria, Nativity of the Virgin Mary Chapel, gewidmet. Im Inneren dieser Kirche befindet sich eine besonders schöne Marmorstatue der jungen Jungfrau Maria.
