Best Western Museumhotel

Three separate buildings constitute the Museumhotels. They are stituated close together. If you do not travel in the heat of the summer Museum hotels is a very agreeable place to stay. They sometimes have an offer at 60, 00 euros per room per night.

We had a room in the middle of the three buildings (called the Residency ) that constitute the BW Museumhotels. It is a large attic room with two single beds (box spring mattresses) and a large bathroom with bathtub and shower. All impeccable clean. There is a fridge, a TV, two easy chairs, two telephones and a trouser press. As it is an attic, the room can be very warm in summer and there is no air conditioning (you can ask for a fan). At the reception they explained that, since BW Museums belongs to the historical buildings of the town, they are not allowed to have double glazed windows. From their point of view, this means that it has no use to install air conditioning in the rooms. There is a small elevator to transport your luggage to the first floor. If you are disabled, ask for a room on the ground floor. On the ground floor there is a common sitting room.

We had no breakfast in the hotel because of the ridiculously high price (19, 00 euro’s p. p., about $26. 60). Go to the Wijnhaven, where you will find a small bakery that serves breakfast at half the price. It is not possible to have lunch or diner in the hotel

Staff in the hotel is very friendly, helpful and professional.

Museumhotels is situated in the city centre about a 10 min. walk from the railway station and about 150 meters away from a parking, where you can park your car at 10, 00 euros per 24 hrs. (to be paid at the reception). In my opinion this is not a 4 stars hotel, as is advertised.
