Hotel Porto Belissario

the hotel is situated high above a small bay in Ferma, beautiful views especially from the pool area. Lovely gardens with citrus trees, palms and sweet scented bushes all very well kept. Pool area small with loungers and some shade under bamboo cover. Steep steps down to the beach, shingle rather than sand a little shade if you are lucky enough to grab a place under the wild bamboo plants. No cafe, taverna, boat hire etc., etc., :-) Ideal to relax and forget all your troubles and cares. Hotel very well run, staff competent. Good basic room (208) large balcony view of hinterland. Food varied, Cretian cuisine all lovingly prepared by Sophia :-)Not a hotel for action seeking guests.Visitors are from many european countries so there is no overriding nationality. Car hire is recommended for those wishing to explore rest of island, local bus service stops in front of hotel.All in all this hotel is a little gem I will definately be re-visiting :-)
