Pool und Restaurant entspricht 3* da renoviert. Lobby und Zimmer jedoch eher 2*. Mobilar sehr abgewohnt. Also keine großen Erwartungen haben! Alles in allem also eher enttäuschend was das Zimmer angeht.
Keine großen Erwartungen haben! Beschreibung siehe oben.

Dear Guest, We thank you for taking the time to write a review. As I said in my answers to other reviews for the last 2 years, we have taken over the hotel 2 years ago and started renovating it. The hotel is still under renovation work that will go on for the next 2 years. I have explained in many previous replies what we are doing (kindly refer to them). But to me, the important matter you brought is about entertainment. This is matter of choice and nothing else. Castello Bianco will never be a hotel with loud and noisy entertainment. We have 2 theme evenings (Greek night and romantic night, both with live music) and we do not intend to do more. We do not like noisy hotels with animation team screaming in your ears all day. The style we have is about a friendly and cosy atmosphere that make you “feel like home”. Even when the hotel will be completely renovated, it will never be a shiny and impersonal thing but a place where it feels good being, with great service and great food. Where the personal contact remains important, where you can relax and feel you are not just a number. This is our view of hospitality and it is what we love about it, the contact we can have with all our guests. Last winter, because we had many requests, we built a massage room, very nicely prepared with a nice atmosphere. Guess how many persons used it during all summer? Just 6, so we stopped it mid September. This winter we will be building a brand new fitness room because everyone says we don’t have one. My experience says that a maximum of 15 persons will use in 2019. This is because before going on holidays, many people think “I am going to do some gym during my holidays” and then when the time comes we find all type of excuses to do something else. It is like New Year’s resolutions. A hotel accommodates so many guests with so many different habits and cultures that it is impossible to make everyone 100% happy with the equipment (of the rooms or of the hotel). Some find our mattresses too hard, some too soft and some just perfect (by the way, they are all new and replaced last winter). To satisfy everyone we should have 3 mattresses per room (and 3-4 different types of pillows per room). I think that all of us, as consumers, we must first think what we want and what we expect from a hotel (or anything else) and then make our choice accordingly. Castello Bianco is a good hotel (as most of our guests say) for its category and price and offers much more than many of other competitors. Of course it is not perfect, we are well aware of that and we make tremendous efforts to make it better. Again, thank you for giving the opportunity to make some things clear. Kind regards from Crete.
