NH Paris Gare de l'Est

Located directly in front of Gare de l'Est and near Gare du Nord the hotel is easy to reach and avoids travelling downtown with luggage which is not so easy to handle when using Metro. Metro lines are accessable directly at hotel's exit with less than 15 min to reach main locations downtown Paris. Rooms are clean and for Paris acceptably large and convenient. Though located at a main street the sound level in the rooms facing the street is almost not disturbing as long as windows are closed. WLAN is missing in the rooms (exists in the lobby), but LAN is available free of charge. Children's extra bed was organized without problem (even on cost of increasing room size). Breakfast is not included in hotel price and its medium quality offered is acceptable in view of according French/Paris custom. Though it appears to be expensive the breakfast price is comparable to street cafe breakfast prices. In particular, younger children may have breakfast free of charge. The area further to the South of the hotel location in a distance of some walking minutes appears not to be the most proper quarter of Paris, which when travelling with family may have to be considered. Though not of premium class, the hotel is acceptably good in performance, so that we returned within one month to stay there a second time.
