Hotel Garni Fels

This nice little guesthouse is situated right in the middle of Riezlern the main town. Mobile phone coverage is good in the area around Riezlern and on most of the hikes too. There are a lot of things to do if the weather is bad.

Our room had been newly renovated and had a big LCD TV and a very comfortable double bed. The bathroom had a shower, a sink with lots of room to put things around it and even one of those magnifying mirrors! We slept well - there was no noise from the main road at night. There is a nice balcony and terrace overlooking the alpine scenery.

The breakfast had everything we needed from cereal with fresh fruit to ham, cheese and boiled eggs, and tea and coffee were served by a pretty young lady.

Paquita Fels, the proprietress, speaks very good English and she brightened up our day with helpful suggestions and good advice on restaurants and where to go.

An ideal base for the many hiking tours in the Kleinwalsertal. After unloading our luggage in front of the hotel we were given a permit for the car park situated two minutes walk away. This is very convenient if you want to use your car but we managed mainly with the excellent bus service which is free for holders of a guest card.

We were there with German friends for three days and concluded each evening in the lounge with reasonably priced beers from the fridge.
