    Dear Zwyssig Family, As a result of the issue you provoked on your arrival regarding your quite strange "severe peanut allergy", (not allergic to eating traces of peanuts but allergic if the person(s) in the next table is eating them), you have proceeded to discriminate our hotel. We have provided below the letter, which you all signed, so that other guests are aware of the somewhat difficult and strange guests which we have to deal with. We should also mention to potential guests that you arrived at our hotel at approx. 11am and consumed the managers time till 16:30, so that we can accommodate your quite strange severe peanut allergy. Below is the letter addressed and signed by yourselves. Thursday 1st June 2023 Dear Ms. Tamara Zwyssig, Re: Peanut Allergy Prior to your arrival you sent us several emails, regarding your peanut allergy. In all our replies, we mentioned that our Emerald restaurant for our half board guests serves a Buffet Breakfast and for Dinner a 5 course a la carte menu. We specifically also mentioned that if you require a tailored made menu, then additional charges apply. We take all food allergies seriously, so upon your arrival, our Chef, Maître and Manager took the initiative to speak with you in order to ensure you have an allergy-free holiday. It was at this point you mentioned that you cannot be in close proximity of anyone consuming peanuts There was no mention in any of your correspondence that your allergy is triggered not only from what you eat but what others around you may also consume. Furthermore, you never mentioned that your parents cannot eat peanuts either. However, in all our replies, we made it clear that if a specific menu is required an additional charge applies. As you can appreciate our hotel is fully booked and we cannot control what other guests may choose to eat. Also, our Executive Chef has designed a menu that resembles a 5-star dining experience. We proposed several different options such as reserving you a table for breakfast and dinner, something that does not happen in any hotel. We proposed a different chef for you to prepare your meals, which bears an additional cost and this was made clear to you from our first email. The additional cost is €50 per day. You accused us of discriminating against you, which clearly is a false accusation, as we are working to ensure your safety whilst in our hotel. We have not refused you any entry to the restaurant nor have we refused to offer you food. We have gone above and beyond to offer you choices and to also accommodate you. You have decided to eat breakfast only and that you will eat out for dinner and perhaps some nights eat at our restaurant. The nights you choose to eat at our restaurant, the charge of €50 will apply. To be more precise, your breakfast will be made separately by our Chef’s team and served to you personally in the restaurant to ensure that you remain safe whilst dining with us. To conclude, Diamond Deluxe Hotel will hold no responsibility nor liability for any allergic reaction that you may have during your stay when dining outside from the hotel, nor will be liable for any refund or compensation.
