The Podzemelj Camp is sited in the most southern and smallest region in Slovenia – Bela krajina by the road running from Metlika to Crnomelj, just after the village of Gradac. It is pleasantly situated with a restaurant, children’s playground and sports ground. Camp can be found by the Kolpa River, one of the most beautiful swimming rivers in Europe. Boating with kayaks, canoes or rafts as well as fishing permits are additional activities on offer here in the campsite. The bathing areas are well-kept and suitable for young children. A timber raft is installed in the middle of the river giving swimmers a pleasant rest point. Visits to nearby vineyard cottages with excellent Bela krajina wine tasting are also favorable. Camp surrounding is perfect for: mushroom picking, horse riding, different sightseeing trips and a lot more.

The surrounding lanes are ideal for cycling and hiking with several points of interest along the river Kolpa and in the nearby surroundings. Not far from regional road heading from Novo mesto towards Karlovac and highway heading from Zagreb to Rijeka and Split makes Pozdemelj Camp an ideal location for your »pit« stop before Dalmatia, Istra, Plitvice lakes, Medjugorje and other south-eastern Europe destinations. The Kolpa River, the main site of interest in the Krajinski park Kolpa, passes through the southern edge of Bela krajina. Clean water, naturally intact river beds, numerous rapids and coves decorate the river. The Krajinski park is noted for its characteristically shaped Karst landscape, where cultivated fern-lands and carefully tended sinkholes are formed into terraces. The cultivated land retains a primeval air especially on the meadows and pastures. Herbal and animal diversity give to Bela krajina additional charm. Due to these facts the River Kolpa is listed as one of the areas of broader international concern, recognized under the name »Natura 2000«.

Campers can enjoy their nature pampering directly by Kolpa River. Staying in a tent, camp-trailer or campervan campers have possibility to reserve their perfect camping spot for a day or whole season. Each spot has an electrical connection and is located near one of the two bathroom facilities. For guests who would like to spend their vacations more comfortable Podzemelj Camp offers mobile houses in which 2-8 persons can be accommodated. Located by Kolpa River these houses have wooden fence, shady terrace and air-conditioning – cooled in summer and heated in spring and autumn. Each mobile house is equipped with bedroom, sleeping room, kitchen, toilet/shower room and satellite TV. There is plenty of space for car, bike and children play in front of the house.
