Heute morgen bei -2 Grad in Frankfurt gelandet... Ich will wieder zurück! ((

Also, mal ein Fazit von meiner Seite aus (vielleicht ja auch interessant für potenzielle Samui-Reisende):

1. Hotel: ich war ja im New Star Beach Resort untergebracht, hatte es aufgrund der vielen Bewertungen und der Lage gewählt, weil ich nicht gerne meinen Quadratmeter Strand mit 100 Leuten teile. Ich bin absolut nicht enttäuscht worden, das Hotel ist seine 4 Sterne absolut wert. Selbstverständlich muss man von seinem hohen, deutschen Ross runterkommen, denn man lebt dort anders. An die Hotelbewertung setze ich mich im Anschluss, hier nur das grundsätzliche:

- nach Chaweng "Mitte" ist man gute 25 Minuten zu Fuß unterwegs (ich bin jeden Tag dort langgelaufen, ich liebe es die Menschen bei irgendwelchen Sachen zu beobachten! )

- der Hotel-eigene Strand ist mit Abstand der beste am Chaweng/Chaweng Noi. Nirgends ist es so sauber und man hat so viel Platz. Außerdem finde ich es immer super, wenn man - bevor das offene Meer kommt - so eine kleine Sandbank hat, bei der das Meer Fußhoch ist.

- die Preise im Resort selbst sind schon happig, betrachtet man aber die Qualität der Speisen und eben das Ambiente, ist es ok.

2. Umgebung: Wer keine Lust auf Fahrten nach Chaweng hat, kann auch direkt in der Umgebung essen. Das Charming, was ja auch immer wieder hier erwähnt wird, ist preis/leistungstechnisch super. Vorspeise und Hauptspeise mit 2 Drinks, da kommt man mit 300-400 Baht hin. Wer etwas mehr ausgeben will, fährt oder geht (ca. 15 Minuten) zum Dr. Frogs. Das Gemüse mit Hühnchen und Cashewkernen war der Hammer, von der Sauce träume ich immernoch... Aber eben auch teuer, die Kombo Vorspeise, Hauptspeise und 2 Drinks kommt hier schnell mal auf 700-800 Baht.

Family Mart ist direkt schräg gegenüber vom New Star. Wer einen 7/11 sucht, muss nach Chaweng laufen. Ansonsten kann ich für die Kollegen, die nach einer "Massage" suchen die Damen an der Straße Richtung Beach Road empfehlen.

3. Moskitos: ich glaube, die Moskitos haben ihren Blutvorrat für die nächsten Jahre an mir geholt. Ich habe am ersten Tag direkt das hier empfohlene Sketolene gesucht, gabs im Family Mart aber nicht... Also habe ich mir das lila Zeugs zum einreiben geholt. Nach meiner ersten Nacht sah ich aus... um Gottes Willen! Ich habe mich geschämt, am Strand auszuziehen. 7-8 Mückenstiche die Hüfte und am Brustkorb hoch, dazu an Füßen und Ellenbogen alles zerstochen.

Also nochmal hier im Forum nachgeschaut und nach Chaweng in den 7/11 gelaufen. Dort gab es dann auch das gelbe Sketolene. Es hat definitiv geholfen, auch wenn ich trotzdem immernoch ein paar Stiche hatte, aber es war zumindest nicht mehr so schlimm. Allgemein muss ich aber sagen, dass das Moskitoproblem schon sehr krass ist und ich mich schon fragen musste, wieso das Hotel da keine Vorkehrungen trifft (dazu mehr in der Bewertung...).

4. Wetter: am vorletzten Tag wurde ich von prasselnden Regentropfen geweckt. Ich traute meinen Augen nicht... Als ich im Bad fertig war, hat es aber schon wieder aufgehört. Ansonsten hatte ich die 13 Tage immer die knalle Sonne, am Nachmittag mal 1-2 Wolken. Herrlich! März kann ich also auch absolut empfehlen. Ich mag übrigens das Klima, auch wenn viele Touristen damit nicht klarkommen... Es hat was von Aquariumatmosphäre, aber am Meer oder Pool finde ich es herrlich.

5. Essen: eben schon das Charming erwähnt, ansonsten war ich auch mal im "Noi" (sehr lecker und günstig!). Hauptsächlich habe ich aber auf der Walking Street in Chaweng gegessen. Dort kann man sich quasi für 150-200 Baht totfressen! Frühlingsrollen, Nudeln, Frittiertes Chicken... Ich kriege schon wieder Hunger. Absolut empfehlenswert! Zum Nachtisch kann ich die Banana/Nutella Pancakes empfehlen, die man überall bekommt. Weiß jemand, was das für ein Teig ist? Der wird quasi aus einem Klumpen geformt und schmeckt etwas salzig, yummy!

Am letzten Tag hatte ich noch so viel Geld übrig, da war ich dann mal im "Eat sense" in Chaweng. Super Ambiente, das Essen fand ich auch sehr lecker. Aber sehr teuer...

Achja: was ich super finde in Thailand: da bekommt man nicht diese überdimensionierten Teller, vollgepflanzt mit 1000 Sachen. Lieber etwas weniger, schön angerichtet, aber satt wurde ich immer. Ich fand sowieso, dass ich sehr gut gegessen und getrunken habe, trotzdem hatte ich heute auf der Waage weniger drauf als vor Reiseantritt (muss wohl an den Spaziergängen nach Chaweng liegen).

Reise allgemein: bin mit Gulfair von FFM über Bahrain nach BKK geflogen. War alles einwandfrei pünktlich und sauber. Das Essen hat mich doch sehr überrascht (lecker und reichhaltig). Die Ausstattung der Flieger zwischen FFM und BAH ist super, alles ziemlich neu und modernes Programm (auf dem Hinflug Skyfall geschaut, auf dem Rückflug Der Hobbit). Die Flieger zwischen BAH und BKK sind leider etwas älter, kommt man aber trotzdem noch mit zurecht, wenn man den Preis berücksichtigt.

Von BKK nach Samui ging es mit Bangkok Airways. Auch hier keine Probleme und viel Essen (Snacks...). Achja: der Airport in Samui ist WELTKLASSE! Muss man gesehen haben!

Mehr fällt mir derzeit nicht ein. Vielleicht hilft es dem ein oder anderen ja, auch wenn Palme und Co. hier wirklich eine super Arbeit leisten!

Ich werde wieder nach Thailand reisen. Das Land und die Leute sind einfach nur liebenswert. Danke für alles!
