Whale Sharks and Mantas in December

Hi,
We (at the moment snorklers only) will go to the Maldives from 28th Nov until 16th Dec 2012.
For the first 8 days we will stay at Viceroy Maldives - expensive but a great offer ;-)) - for the remaining 9 days we are searching for one or two nice islands (medium price range) with a good chance to see Whale Sharks and Mantas.
At the moment we are flirting with Bathala, Helengeli, Thulhagiri or Mihiri (pricewise an ouch) or maybe Dusit Thani (same ouch as Mihiri), which are said to have a very good house reef for snorklers, but we have no clue if there is also a chance to see Whale Sharks and Mantas.
Therefore, do you have any recommendations for us where we shall to go have a good chance to see Whale Sharks and Mantas?

von den Inseln die Du genannt hast, würde ich Thulhagiri schon mal rausnehmen. Da gibts weit und breit keine Mantas oder Walhaie. Das Hausriff ist auf Bathala ist so lala. Helengeli ist natürlich ein Hammer Hausriff. Da kann es Dir schon mal passieren das ein Walhai dort lang kommt. Ist aber natürlich trotzdem Glück. Die meisten Chancen hast Du, wenn Ihr auf Mirihi wohnt. Von dort aus könnt Ihr im Winter einen Ausflug zum Mantapoint machen. Dort gibt eigentlich im Winter täglich Mantas satt. Wir hatten rund 20 Mantas über 2 Stunden. mfg
