WE'RE HERE AT EDENH REAL (arrived Jan.6 and leaving Jan.19)as you can see, today is Jan.12 and I am taking this very important time out of my wonderful vacation to write to all of you inquiring minds (including travel agents that have not visited the property and would like to pass on some accurate, honest without exagerating info about Edenh Real!!!

Here it goes....
Yes, it is a Brand New Resort that opened (called soft open) on January 5, 2008...when we arrived we were already assigned a room (as PuntaCana Mike, a man of integrity said he would TRY and do) with a beautiful view of the main pool and ocean, including an 8 jet jacuzzi overlooking the ocean set right outside on our balcony, but for some reason (I think it was the Xanax I had taken 3hours earlier for fear of flying)I was not happy with the room because the elevator closest to the room vs the elevator 10 extra steps away was not fully operable at the present time (Brand New Resort!)and I had to climb up 3 flights of stairs (boy was I stupid given up that room, again it was the Xanax talking, no alcohol yet, lol). My husband and I proceeded back to the front desk and they immediately assigned us another room and were absolutely Great about it.
Ocean, Ocean, Ocean.....it is very clean, beautiful and off white soft sand with plenty of lounge chairs and coctails....oh' by the way.....yes there are plenty of activites including beach volleyball, beach salsa lessons, scuba diving, catamarangue, water trampoline, massage hut, NO CONSTUCTION etc....you will not be bored or bothered.....ALSO, I can tell you that my husband and I walked for 45 minutes along the beach (each side of Edenh) and we both agree that the beach at Edenh is one of the cleanest and nicest that we've seen.
Pool, Pool, Pool....beautiful, big, clean, pool bar, water aerobics, music, several pools, plenty of lounge chairs, plenty of towels, restaurant at the main pool area (with ice cream machine,yummy) and Great wait staff....you will see the constuction workers, but don't be alarmed, they are working on the grounds (meaning, grass, plants etc) and you will not be bothered by limited noise if any.
Restaurants, Restaurants, Restaurants.....I have to say that I have traveled to Rome, Cancun, Accapulco, Jamaica, Hawaii etc....however.....this is our first time in Dominican Republic.....I really enjoy the food and from speaking to approximately 12 plus other couples we have made friends with during our first week, they all are in agreement about the food in all of the restaurants here at Edenh....oh' and the service is outstanding (a little slow at times, but that is too be expected being that we just happen to be dining at each of the restaurants the first day of opening and the staff are all jumping over hoops to please :-).....seriously......the beef, chicken, seafood (did I tell you they serve surf n turf which includes a filet mignon and lobster at the Shore Grille, tender! tender! tender and yummy).....ALL of this is included at Edenh......WOW....you definitely won't go hungry....by the way.....minimal "SOFT" construction in some of the restaurants which include the hanging of pictures and lamps (but not during open hours of dining, no worries)....Also....all restaurants are conveniently located near the front (lobby) part of the building which makes it very convenient to walk from one to the other in case your decision/taste buds have changed by the time you arrive.
Rooms, Rooms, Rooms......OK....I already explained my initial experience upon arrival, but if that was not good enough, here it goes again.....the walk way to get to the rooms is all covered, which is nice for those late night party people that don't want to get stuck in not so often rainy nights....there are rooms on both sides of the main lobby area heading towards the beach and pools....you will see minor construction and hear some hammering and drilling during (as we say in California) business hours (10am to approximately 4-6pm)not bad, actually, I think it's pretty considerate of them being that the hotel has an occupancy rate of 350 guests as of today....without much complaint or frustration from many of the guests....believe me....I know....I'm a Real Estate Agent in California and love to talk to everyone....actually, several of the friends we've made here at Edenh call my husband the Ambassador of the Edenh because it seems like he knows everybody, lol ....every room has an 8 jet jacuzzi, some inside the room and some on the balcony's of the rooms.....the room we are in has a jacuzzi on the balcony (romantic looking at the stars at night)....all the toiletries you need, including a hairdryer, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower cap, q-tips, towels , fridge stocked with water, soda, beer, nuts, coffee. tea etc...you get the picture, hopefully :-)....again, you will see workers outside the rooms during business hours (don't be alarmed, it's the least of anyone's concern)....our room had a mosquito problem the first night, but as soon as we let the front desk know about it, they sent someone to fuemigate our room (which consisted of a bug spray)where we had to be out of our room for 1 hour (big deal, we were on the beach having daquiri's, heehee)....NO MORE MOSQUITO'S.....also....the phone in our room hasn't worked since we arrived (everyone's else's phone we've talked to, works)....oh well....all we do every night before we head to our room is stop by the front desk and order room service to be sent to our room....V'WALA....15 minutes later, we have room service (that's what I'm talken about, SERVICE!!!)....the bathroom is fully operable with a nice shower and plenty of hot water....the toilet is separate with a fogged glass door for complete privacy....the bathroom does not have a floor to ceiling wall but is approximately 4 inches from the ceiling, so when someone is sleeping and you need to use the toilet, I recommend turning on the separate light in the toilet room next to the telephone so you do not disturb the sleeping party (again, not a problem)....the property has just enough rooms not to tired anyone from walking 2 miles or have to wait for a golf cart to take you to and from your room (great layout)....boy were they thinking
Nightlife, Nightlife, Nightlife....they have a wonderful (different theme) show every night....The Thantra Bar is on the roof top and is open from 7pm-3am....BEAUTIFUL, with a pool....very MIAMI and SHEEK...the other bars are very nice and relaxing....or wild and crazy....depends on YOU!!!

ich wuerde auf Nummer sicher gehen und in den Sueden, La Romanan oder Punta Cana im Osten, da es im Nov oeffter mal im Norden regnet.
Zu den Hotels kann man weng nur sagen, da ist jeder verschieden was er moechte und nicht mag

ich habe gebucht fuer 2 Wochen vom 21. Feb. bis 6. Maerz und wenn ich dann wieder komme lasse ich es Euch genau wissen ob es das liebe Geld wert ist.

Ich denk mal so es ist das Gran Bahia, so es ist das grosse in Punta Cana.

In fast allen AI sind jede menge Paeaerchen, da dieses Hotel aber sehr gross ist sind auf jeden fall auch Singles dort.
Die Disco ist ok, ist aber nicht die typische Hotel-Disco, wirklich mehr fuer recht junge Leute, ab 30-35 Jahren fuehlt man sich zualt dort drinnen.

In Deine Flieger kannst Du all die Spielereien mit nehmen, ob sich das lohnt musst Du entscheiden, ist ja nicht so furchbar schwer.

Wenn Du eine andere Disco ausserhalb Deines Hotels versuchen moechtest , wir waren im Mango, (weiss nicht ob das so geschrieben wird), brauchst aber nur die Hotelangestellten fragen die wissen immer den "IN-Platz".

ok,,,hab's belesen,

und was ist nun so schlecht daran?
Wir haben nicht vor in der Dom. Rep Urlaub zumachen und so zu leben wie Dominicaner, da wuerde wohl der groesse Teil der Urlauber zu Hause bleiben.
Das nur wenig Dominicaner so leben koennen wie wir in diesen Hotel ist uns Allen klar, doch die meissen von uns Urlaubern fliegen dort hin um Sonne, Strand und eine gute Zeit zuhaben.
Ich fuer mein Teil sehe da echt nichts Verkerrtes mit, wenn es Jemand anders moechte kann er (sie) es doch auch haben.
Wir wissen wie schlecht es vielen dort geht und deshalb bringt der Urlaubsverkehr doch nicht nur Schlechtes.
Es darf aber jeder sein Meinung dazu haben, ich sehe das nicht so verkniffen.

Wir sind Iberostar Fans und versuchen immer mal was Anderes, doch wir kommen immer wieder drauf zurueck, ob nun im Sueden Osten oder Norden, wir sind halt treue Seelen. Ausser in Cuba, dort gehts ins Paradisus del Oro.
Die Moral der Geschichte, wenn ich schon Urlaub mache dann so das ich nicht meckern muss und mich rund um wohl fuehle und garnicht erst wegschauen muss.

wir waren letztes Jahr im Jan. im Sunscape the Beach,,,,,,,,,,, die Anlage ist super toll, schoener Pool und Strand war auch schoen.
Das Problem fuer uns war das diese Kette eine Amerikanische ist, AMResorts und von vielen Amerikanern besucht wird, das ist immer noch fine, doch die Angestellten im Hotel sind dermasen verwoehnt und wollen sich fast nicht bewegen ohne Tip und wir sind gute Tippe, sind dran gewoehnt, da wir aus Canada sind.
Das Naechste ist die nicht Reservierung zum Abendessen, so gut sich das anhoert, bringt aber auch Probleme. An mehreren Abenden haben wir fuer 1.1/2 Stunden auf den Aufruf gewartet, bis dahin hat man dann schon fast so viel getrunken das man sich das Essen fast schenken konnte. Alkohol und leerer Bauch mixt nicht gut!
Wir wuerden die AM Resorts nicht wieder besuchen aber das ist nur unsere Meinung und die von vielen Deutschen die wir dort getroffen haben, so super begeistert waren die wenigsten Europaeer.

Hi Salsa04,, das mit dem ausgebuchtem Iberostar, kann nicht stimmen, ich kann es von hier noch buchen, vielleicht nur bei Neckermann ausgebucht, wir Canadier bekommen es immer noch.

Mich wuerde die Baustelle nicht abhalten.
Wenn Ihr wirklich auf die Seite des Hotels kommt wo die Baustelle ist, beschwert Euch sofort und man wird Euch sicherlich ein anderes Zimmer geben. Ihr wisst doch, die Raeder die quitschen bekommen das Oel.

wir sind fans von den Iberostars, ab und zu versuchen wir verschiedene Hotels, doch wir kommen immer wieder zurueck zum Iberostar.
Das naechste mal im Jan. gehen wir auf "Nummer Sicher" !!!!!!!! IB !!!!!

Eisbaer, es macht mir nichts aus wenn Jemand ordendlich angezogen ist aber Maenner in Shorts sind nun mal nicht mein Ding und die meissen koennen es sich wohl auch nicht leisten (das Gleiche gilt fuer die weiblichen Wesen), Weisst Du das ist wie mit dem "Oben Ohne", die die es sich leisten koennten, lassen es.
Ist ja eigendlich auch egal, Urlaub ist trozdem schoen!!!!!!

Im April sind alle Ferien und breaks vorrueber, die Studenten haben ihre reading week im Feb. und die Kinder kommen erst im Maerz dran. April sollte viel ruhiger sein.
Und ob nun das Eine oder das Andere Hotel ist eigendlich nur eine Geldsache. Natuerlich bietet das Bavaro ein bisschen mehr und alles ist noch schoener, doch wenn es ein bisschen weh tut, extra zu zahlen, sind die anderen beiden Hotels auch fein.
Mit den Iberostars kann man eigendlich nie ganz daneben liegen,
Ihr habt bestimmt viel Spass, ganz egal in welchem Hotel

Ich wundere mich nur wie manche herrum laufen und ob sie zu Hause auch zum Essen in Badehoeschen und Gummischlappen gehen. Ich finde immer die Bedienungen sind so nett und versuchen so zuvorkommend zu sein und wir sollten wenigstens so viel Respekt zeigen, das man ordendlich angezogen ist.
Ich fuer meinen Teil genisse es immer mal wieder schoen angezoen zusein und mein Mann muss da dann auch noch zu mir passen und kann nicht im Gammel-Lock auflaufen, wuerde er ehe nicht machen.
