Every year in January, the holidaymaker’s most popular hotels are awarded the HolidayCheck Award. Any hotel that meets the minimum criteria during the period under review and has not violated the HolidayCheck Code of Conduct can be endowed with the Award. Only the 10 most popular hotels in each region will receive the Award (maximum).
Once again, 2021 has confronted us with challenges and continued to be affected by the corona virus. Nevertheless, we would like to reward your great engagement and confer the HolidayCheck Award 2022. For the HolidayCheck Award 2022, we have kept the adjustments in your favor to continue to accommodate the exceptional situation.
To highlight the special challenges of the two corona years, we have decided to keep the name 'The HolidayCheck Special Award 2022'.
In 2022, as in 2021, the award will come in the special design.
The consideration period remains unchanged (12 months). Reviews, published in the period of 1 December 2020 - 30 November 2021 and for a stay in the same time period are considered.
The minimum criteria a hotel must meet in order to qualify for the HolidayCheck Award 2022 are:
Since only the 10 most popular hotels in a region receive an Award, it is possible that hotels meet the minimum criteria but, in the end, do not receive the Award. Deviations within the popularity ranking in regions where hotel density is very high were marginal.
Furthermore, hotels that meet the minimum criteria but have been found to have violated the Code of Conduct or have not reached the overall 90% recommendation rate by 01.12.2021 (see point Important at the question about minimum criteria) are excluded from the Award nomination.
The popularity ranking is an algorithm that relates the number of reviews, the total rating and the recommendation rate. With the help of this popularity ranking, the 10 most popular hotels in a region are determined.
We will inform winning hotels on 11th January 2022 (CET). To contact the hotels, we will use one registered contact in the Business Center or the general contact information from our database. If you or your colleagues do not receive any mail from HolidayCheck by 12th January 2022, please contact us by email at email@example.com.
No. We want to reduce complexity so that you are able to integrate the Award more easily into your marketing. In this way, The Award can represent all your guests, rather than just individual guest categories. On the HolidayCheck Award website, HolidayCheck visitors can still select winning Award hotels based upon their chosen type of vacation and audience.
No, the Award is an individual Award that only applies to one accommodation and is not transferable to other hotels in a chain or holiday resort.
This year, there is again a free award package. We will automatically send the award certificates (A3 and A4 format), stickers and the exclusive special award products to all winning hotels at the beginning of February. If you do not receive a package from us by the end of March, please contact us by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be a few personal award events. If the corona situation does not permit a personal handover, we keep the right to send the award by post.
The HolidayCheck Gold Award is a special accolade that was first presented to the hotels in 2017. Hotels that have already received the HolidayCheck Award at least 5 times in a row and have continuously received outstanding reviews receive this Award.
Like the previous year, there will be no HolidayCheck Gold Award in 2022.
Many destinations and hotels were only able to receive a few or even no guests this year due to closed borders or various travel restrictions. Due to these difficult conditions, we have decided not to give the HolidayCheck Gold Award in 2022 either. We would like to treat all hotels and destinations equally and avoid unfair advantages. All winners of 2022 will receive the regular HolidayCheck Award with the adjusted name 'the HolidayCheck Special Award 2022'.
We cannot say anything about the HolidayCheck Gold Award 2023 now.
No special registration is necessary to be included in the selection for the HolidayCheck Award. All hotels that have a HolidayCheck profile will be considered.
However, a hotel can actively increase the likelihood of winning the Award. It is important to be present at HolidayCheck with an attractive and above all complete hotel profile. This can be edited after free registration in the Business Center.
